5 Things to Know Before Game Day

It’s that time of year again! The first WVU Football weekend in Mountaineer Country is approaching quickly. Before you hit the country roads, take a look at these updates and reminders to help make your game day experience a great one.

Golf Cart Courtesy Shuttle

The Goodwill City Ambassadors, a community initiative that helps welcome visiting team fans and all visitors to Mountaineer Country, will be driving golf carts in various parking locations during game day for guests with a disability, as well as elderly or injured individuals.

These golf car shuttles are separate from ADA shuttle buses that drop off at the Southeast and Southwest gates. Guests will be picked up on a first-come, first-serve basis and there could be a wait time. Remember to dispose of open containers and tobacco before boarding the shuttle. Take a look at the map for shuttle locations and note that these are subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

Confused as to who will be driving the appropriate shuttle? Look for the folks in bright orange hats.

WVU Gameday App

This App is packed with features that enhance the gameday experience by including live game videos and audio, real-time social media feeds, the official game-day guide, and maps for home and away games. Download it today from the App Store!

Rideshare Lot

In order to accommodate guests needing transportation pickups, WVU Athletics has created a designated “Rideshare Lot” for all vehicles to park in while waiting for the rider. This lot will be at United Bank on Elmer Prince Dr. behind the WVU Alumni Center.

Continuation of the Clear Bag Policy

WVU’s approved bags include a clear shoulder bag (many sold in and around Mountaineer Country specifically for the game), a small clutch bag that fits in your hand, a plastic storage bag such as a one-gallon freezer bag, and a chairback. Visit WVU Sports for more policy information.

Water Monsters

If temperatures are too hot outside for comfort, WVU Athletics will be supplying large water stations (“water monsters”) at four corners within Milan Puskar Stadium for guests to receive free cups of water.
