Honoring Those Who Served Our Country

Honor the veteran in your life along with other veterans who have served our country this Veteran’s Day, on Monday, November 11. Here in Mountaineer Country, we are grateful for those who fought for our freedom and want to show appreciation. Take a look at the following events that Mountaineer Country has to offer and help us celebrate!

Join Triple S Harley-Davidson on Sunday, November 10 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for the Sunday Funday: Salute to Our Veterans. Free lunch for all veterans! Lunch is available for a $5 donations for all other non-veterans. All event proceeds benefit Operation Welcome Home – an organization helping local veterans as they re-enter civilian life.

Celebrate Veterans Day weekend with a family outing to the WVU football game against Texas Tech on Saturday, November 9, where there will be a special salute to veterans. Kickoff is at noon!

Spend Veterans Day at the WVU Women’s basketball game against Presbyterian, which starts at 2:00pm at the WVU Coliseum!

Take the family to Rowlesburg, to the Szilagyi Center (old high school), where you can explore the Greatest Generation World War II Museum.

The annual Veteran’s Day parade hosted by Morgantown City Hall will take place in downtown Morgantown on Monday, Nov. 11 starting at 6:00pm. The parade will begin at the top of High Street and continue throughout Wiley Street to Foundry Street.

Grab a bite to eat at the veteran-owned and operated restaurant and bar, Mountain Mama’s! They have a large menu of food and drinks, and a variety of homemade wing sauces. Make sure to ask about their daily veteran discounts!

Craftbeer lovers will want to make the trip out to Terra Alta to visit High Ground Brewing. This veteran-owned brewery features a taproom that is open to the public, pet-friendly, and hosts live music events every week.

Swing by Eat’n Park on Patteson Drive the entire month of November for 10% off for all veterans and their families.

Make sure to stop by our participating Mountaineer Deal restaurants, such as Crab Shack Carriba, Shoney’s, Ali Baba, and MORE! while dining around town!

Mountaineer Country also has many restaurants and stores offering discounts and free meals for veterans on Veterans Day. Make sure to have your military identification in order to take part in the deals.
