The season has already started for the West Virginia Black Bears, but don’t worry – there are plenty of games for you to attend from now until September!

Perfect for the avid theatergoer, West Virginia Public Theatre will perform the dramatic play, A Hatful of Rain, until June 24th at West Virginia University’s Creative Arts Center.

The David Allen Pretzel Memorial Rodeo will kick off June 22nd at the David Allen Pretzel Arena in Bruceton Mills. Lasting until June 24th, the rodeo will feature various rodeo shows, barrels and poles, and music by the Steve Smith Band.

The STIHL Timbersports Pro Lumberjack Competition & Festival will come to Morgantown June 23rd and 24th at Mylan Park.


A unique celebration of the heritage and character of the region, the Whiskey Rebellion Festival will be held July 5th through 8th near Greater Morgantown in Washington, Pennsylvania. Historical reenactments, music, food, and other activities will be conducted throughout the weekend.

The Jim Dunn Run, consisting of a five-mile running course and two-mile walking course, will be held Friday, July 13th in the Wharf District near Oliverio’s Ristorante. The gates open at 5 p.m., and the race begins at 7 p.m.

Celebrate the history of Arthurdale with your family and friends at the New Deal Festival on Saturday, July 14 starting at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy food and live music, as well as a vintage car and tractor show. Museums will be open and there will also old-fashioned games, hay rides, and a petting zoo for the little ones.

Two High Street Cruise-In events will take place in downtown Morgantown on Wednesday, July 18th and Saturday, August 18 on High Street.

The 31st Annual MedExpress Kids Day will occur Saturday, July 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Morgantown. Kids will have the opportunity to play games and enjoy a sandbox, make crafts, learn about safety, and receive free items from businesses in the area.

Enjoy A Season of Good Taste: Summer Sunday Brunch at the West Virginia Botanic Garden on July 25th. Chef Don Champion will prepare brunch favorites for all to enjoy in the garden.

Compete in the Cupcake Wars (ages 12-18) on July 25th at 6 p.m. at the Morgantown Public Library! This free event invites teens to be creative and decorate cupcakes to match the secret theme announced the day of the event.

The 14th Annual MountainFest Motorcycle Rally will be held July 26th through 29th at Mylan Park. Bikers from all over the country will map out a ride that will lead them into Mountaineer Country for live entertainment, a vendor mall, food, and more. Be sure to enter Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau’s giveaway for your chance to win two weekend VIP passes. You don’t want to miss out on the action!

The Mon County Fair will be held July 31st to August 4th at Mylan Park. The cost is an all-inclusive price of $10.


Join Friends of the Cheat and the U.S. Forest Service for Snorkel the Cheat 2018. Beginning at 11 a.m., you and your family can discover the Cheat River’s underwater world! Snorkels, masks, and water shoes will be provided.

August 11th is the Cheat Lake Regatta at the Cheat Lake Marina & Crab Shack Caribba. Multiple activities including a kayak race and Light Up Cheat Lake, where lit up helium LED balloons will literally “light up” Cheat Lake. The day’s events begin at 10 a.m.

The Dynamic Physical Therapy Sprint, Splash, Spin Triathlon will take place at Marilla Park on August 17th and 18th. The kids race beings Friday at 6:30 p.m. and the adult race will be on Saturday at 7 a.m.

The 6th Annual West Virginia Tattoo Expo will be held August 17th through 19th at the Morgantown Event Center.

The Mountain Spirit Pow Wow will be held August 24th to 26th at Mason-Dixon Historical Park. This family-friendly event features Native American style items as well as singing, drumming, and dancing.
