Fall Fun, Festive Feasts and So Many Reasons to Be Thankful!

This Thanksgiving season, Mountaineer Country is offering events for people of all ages to celebrate the holiday. Visit crafts fairs, and get your holiday shopping done early. Find local feasts full of fall flavors and Appalachian pride. With events happening almost every day, there’s so much to be thankful for in Mountaineer Country!

All Thanksgiving Events

Turkey Trot

Too much turkey? Begin your Thanksgiving morning with the Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot at the blue track by the WVU Coliseum. Races start at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 23. Up to 800 participants will receive a pair of socks for taking part in the event.

Black Friday Shopping

Looking for places to shop on Black Friday? Check out the wide selection of local shops around Mountaineer Country and support small businesses in the community.

Small Business Saturday

Support your local community on Small Business Saturday, November 25 in Downtown Morgantown.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Taking a break from cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year or want a change of scenery? Check out the locations below, and start planning your feast! Many of these locations require reservations, so make sure to make accommodations in advance.

Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place

Bourbon Prime at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place will be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner with a full buffet and an a la carte menu. The in-person dinner will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets are $38 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and $15 for children ages 6 – 12. Marilyn’s of Morgantown

Let Marilyn’s of Morgantown cook for you this Thanksgiving! Their reservations for Thanksgiving Dinner are now open, call them at 304-841-5193 to reserve your spot today. Enjoy your favorites from their full menu, along with some special Thanksgiving Day features. Reservations preferred.

Cracker Barrel

All your favorites are ready for pickup at the Cracker Barrel of Morgantown, located in the University Town Centre. Go online, or call ahead to order your Heat and Serve Thanksgiving Family Dinner – available for pick up on November 21 and 22.

Leonard’s Grill

Leonards’s Grill in Grafton, WV, is offering two pick-up options for Thanksgiving dinner this year! Pre-order a family-style Thanksgiving Feast, or build your own plate so you can customize your dinner. The feast includes one main meat dish, three sides, and six rolls—enough to feed four to six people for a flat rate (you can add more)! The BYO option allows you to select a variety of different sides for different prices. Don’t forget your blackberry cobbler and other desserts, available a la carte. Order through November 18 for pick up on November 22. 

Bridgeport Conference Center 

Let Bridgeport Conference Center cook for you this Thanksgiving! From their kitchen to your table, this family feast will be one to remember, not to mention, effortless. There are options to purchase a full feast or create your own meal with the a la carte options. Orders must be placed by November 16 for pick up on November 21 and 22 from noon to 5 p.m. 

Preston County Inn 

If you’re craving everything from the traditional turkey and gravy to butternut squash soup, assorted seasonal salads, freshly baked bread, and pies, head to Preston County Inn for a complete Thanksgiving dinner buffet. The event is held from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the price is $25. Don’t wait–RSVP by calling the Inn today at 304-329-2220!

Dessert Fix

Cupcake Me Home 

Need some more treats for your Thanksgiving dessert table? Cupcake Me Home has got you covered! They are accepting orders for their dessert charcuterie boards from now until Saturday, November 18. If you don’t want a large spread, there is a small board option and individual pumpkin rolls available for order, as well!

Terra Cafe

Everyone can enjoy a festive holiday dessert this year thanks to gluten-free desserts and more from Terra Cafe. Holiday ordering is now available. Each dessert is made with locally sourced ingredients and packaged with care. Orders must be placed before Monday, November 20, and must be picked up by noon on Wednesday, November 22.
