“West Virginia, My Home,” a collection of music inspired by West Virginia will be performed by Annick Odom. The concert mixes ballads, storytelling, and newly commissioned prices by rising classical composers to share the complexities of West Virginia in a program tinged with love, sadness, and humor.
A Morgantown native currently based in The Netherlands, Annick Odom performs a wide variety of music, ranging from classical contemporary music to old-time American folk songs from Appalachia. Odom performs with an old-time trio Sweet Joe Pye in addition to her work as a classical clarinetist and bassist. She has most recently performed at new Music on the Point in Vermont, the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival in The Netherlands, and Banff Centre’s Ensemble Evolution in Canada.
