Lidiya Demyanovna Keiser was born in Kransnoyarsk, Russia, and immigrated to the United States in February 1999. A lifelong teacher and artist, Keiser has taught literature, language, and painting. She has also participated in dozens of juried exhibitions, had a variety of personal exhibitions across the mid-Atlantic, and restored religious icons.
Keiser uses watercolor, oil, and 3D mixed media. Her earliest works are realistic, but her direction has gradually absorbed influences from romanticism, post impressionism, and surrealism. In Grandeur of the Instant, the artists uses watercolor to evoke surrealistic and real world situations. The exhibition will only be on display in MAC’s Benendum Gallery through August 3rd. Keiser’s paintings can be found in private collections in Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Germany, Canada, and the United States.
