Far too many children and adults face periods of food insecurity. Good Health is dependent on the daily intake of vital nutrients over their lifespan. Empty Bowls Monongalia provides resources and assistance to Monongalia County agencies supporting individuals and families threatened by food insecurity. We credit their success of Empty Bowls to the dedication of over 670 registered volunteers who contribute their time and efforts year round, in addition to generous community members, like you.
Empty Bowls Monongalia invites you to join its cause as it presents its second annual Spring Gala. A reception will begin at 6:00 pm with hors d’oeuvres, beverages, socializing, games and music provided by the Jenny Wilson Trio and the Panniken Calypso Steel Drum Band. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting games, bid on silent auction items and view unique items available during the live auction. Dinner and live auction will follow with music provided by the Jenny Wilson Trio.
The proceeds from the Spring Gala will support 24 agencies serving a food insecure population of 16,600 individuals, including 2,550 children, in Monongalia County. These agencies provide hot meals to our hungry friends and neighbors, nutritious groceries to our food pantries clients and food-filled weekend backpacks to school children.
