2017 WVSSAC Swim Meet Visitor’s Guide
Parking, Things to Do, and Where to Eat and Stay in Morgantown
Welcome all WVSSAC swimmers, friends and family to Greater Morgantown! We know that you will be busy during the day at the WVU Natatorium, but there are some great things to do around town once you are finished competing!
The West Virginia University Natatorium is located behind the WVU Coliseum. Coliseum parking is generally free, but be cautious of permit parking spots due to ticketing or towing. There is also parking on the side of the Natatorium. Some hotels are in walking distance as well.
Fun Group Activities
There are plenty of fun things to do as a group around Greater Morgantown. Visit the Morgantown Escape Room for team building exercises such as solving puzzles and critical thinking. Observe the stars at the WVU Planetarium for “Solar Superstorms” on Friday, February 17th. Create works of art at the Wow Factory or visit the Art Museum of WVU to view spectacular pieces.
Visit Suburban Lanes for a night of cosmic bowling, shop at the Seneca Center, go ice-skating at the Morgantown Municipal Ice Arena, catch a ride on the PRT or take a tour of the beautiful WVU campus. Be sure to also take a photo with the Mountaineer Statue located downtown in front of the Mountainlair before you leave Morgantown!
Places to Eat
Greater Morgantown has a variety of restaurants to satisfy every tastebud! To name a few, Atomic Grill, the three-time winner of “The Best of West Virginia,” serves barbecue made with homemade “West Virginia sauce.” A local favorite, Black Bear Burritos has an Appalachian atmosphere and serves unique burritos and dishes. Pizza Al’s is famous here in Morgantown for its quality pizza. Located downtown, Tailpipes serves gourmet burgers and milkshakes that you will have to try to believe!
