$3 A Bag Used Book Sale at Old Stone House Sept. 1-29

Used books will be on sale for three dollars per bag through the month of September (Sept. 1-29) at the Old Stone House Gift Shop, 313 Chestnut Streetin downtown Morgantown. Only plastic bags that we provide will be allowed. A wide assortment of paperbacks and hardbacks are available. CDs and DVDs are excluded. The Gift Shop is open from 10-2 on Monday-Friday and from 11-3 on Saturdays.

Service League of Morgantown owns and operates the Old Stone House. Profits from the sale of used books are used for the League to provide ongoing funding for books and media supplies to all Elementary and Middle School and High School libraries inMonongaliaCounty. The schools are selected each year on a rotating basis. From the proceeds from the 2011 Scholastic Book Sale, books valued at $281 were gifted toSouthMiddle School. From monies earned from the sale of used books within their gift shop throughout 2011-2012, an additional $882 was earned and split between Trinity Christian and Morgantown High. In the previous year, funding in the amount of $315 .00 was also given to libraries at Suncrest Primary andWestoverMiddle School. Mountaineer Middle was the recipient of books valued at $278 from the 2010 Scholastic Book Fair.
